Talin has been my Art Teacher since 2012. She has taught me how to mix colors, how to create light in my paintings to bring them to life. She teaches saying’s that help us to remember techniques for different steps of our paintings. Talin makes art class fun and inspirational. Come be part of her classes and be surprised at what you create.

Before I met Talin, I had never drawn or painted in my life. I joined Talin's art class at Valencia Reserve in Boynton Beach about two years ago. I told Talin that I wanted to paint a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. Talin sent me to Michaels to buy the correct size canvas, and when I returned, I started drawing the bridge to size.
For the next year, once a week, for a 2 1/2 hour period, I learned how to mix paint colors, apply the paint, and see light and dark in a painting.
Below is a picture of my first painting. I could write pages of praise for the beautiful, brilliant, knowledgeable, talented, and patient teacher Talin Lyman is.
I am now in class twice a week, finishing a self-portrait.
Talin is a hardworking, dedicated teacher for young and old, beginner and advanced students. Talin would be a great asset to any classroom.

Had such a great evening with the ladies. Would have painted another 2 hours if I could. Thank you Talin.

It's the most wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of art, the friendship of people and the hospitality of Talin's Tropical Studio. I have been going for over a year and every visit is another wonderful experience.

I write in support of Talin Lyman’s Art & Music classes in the Palm Beach Area. Before I begin let me offer a very brief resume of my professional background. My doctorate is in art history from NYU and since reaching that exalted status I have served as curator of European Art at the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth; professor of art history and director of the Duke University Museum of Art for 17 years; and most recently director of Palm Beach | America’s International Fine Art and Antique Fair, the annual fine art fair located in West Palm Beach. I now work privately with European and American art museums and collectors as well as contemporary artists.
It was in my capacity as director of the Palm Beach Fair that I met Ms. Lyman. Upon assuming the directorship, I sought to learn about the local art community. Her name came up time and again when I asked knowledgeable people who I should meet. Indeed my first visit to her teaching studio was one I’ll never forget! Her passion and energy was infectious and experiencing her in action that day was overwhelming.
It is easy to see why she has so many devoted students and adult fans. Not only is she a talented, inspiring teacher but also an accomplished artist in a number of fields: easel painting; mural painting; drawing; fabric and furniture design. She is well known to several of the top interior designers in Palm Beach who have used her designs in their work. Ms. Lyman has proven herself both as a dedicated educator and a successful artist, the latter no easy task.
As you can see from her CV, she is organized, experienced, dedicated, multi-talented and a tireless spokesman for the arts. This is a woman who will galvanize students and parents in support of the school’s art program. In addition, she has served as a coach for students who have successfully applied for admission to your school and so is well aware of the school’s high standards. As you undoubtedly know, she is an accomplished musician and singer. I have had the pleasure of hearing her play the piano in concert on several occasions.
Over the years I have been asked to write letters of recommendation for Duke students, professional colleagues, and artists. It is almost always a pleasure to do so. In this case, this task is especially welcome for rarely have I had the pleasure of supporting someone as talented as Ms. Lyman who is so well suited for the job. Her experience and qualifications are evident in her resume. However, only a personal interview can demonstrate the positive power of her personality, her boundless energy, her good humor, her professionalism; and most importantly her dedication to her students and to art. Art makes a difference in our lives. Art is not a luxury - it is a necessity. Talin Lyman will make a difference at your school. She comes with my highest recommendation.
